Blue Star Silk is committed to help reducing waste and over consumption within the industry by offering a wide selection of sustainable and ethical fabrics. We don't have to sacrifice quality to produce quantity, so nether should you. Below are some of the various fabrics that we offer.
Fabric made from wood pulp
Triacetate comes in many colors, weights, and blends. The yarn is created from wood pulp processed with an acetic acid to create Triacetate flakes. The flakes are then spun to create the yarn that is used to weave the fabric.
Polyester made from plastic bottles
ECO-BLUE Polyester is made from 100% plastic bottles found in the ocean. The bottles are broken to single strands and are carefully woven to create fabric. It is easily dyed to your desired colors.
Plant Based Fabric
Dupont Sorona is a breakthrough fabric that is made from plant fibers. This fabric is not only biodegradable, it is 100% Vegan. Sorona can be blended to produce all varieties of fabrics.
wool sourced in the sea
Seawool combines oyster shells with plastic bottles to spin a yarn that is similar to wool along with adding some quality of life improvements such as: anti static, quick dry, anti odor, and moisture management.
Cupro is a fabric that is made from cotton linter which is the short cellulose fibers left on the seed, after the staple cotton is removed. When woven and finished, it produces a silk like fabric.
