Blue Star Silk is committed to help reducing waste and over consumption within the industry by offering a wide selection of sustainable and ethical fabrics. We don't have to sacrifice quality to produce quantity, so nether should you. Below are some of the various fabrics and projects that we carry in stock.

TRIACETATE

Fabric made from wood plup

Wood pulp is mixed with an acetic acid to create triacetate fakes. When combined with a solvent, the dissolution begins to break down and is then spun through to create the yarn that is used to make the fabric. Triacetate comes in many colors, weights, and blends.

ECO-BLUE

Polyester made from plastic bottles 

ECOBLUE Polyester is made from 100% plastic bottles found in the ocean. The bottles are broken to single strands and are carefully woven back into forming fabric.  Being a synthetic fiber, it is easy to dye and comes in many colors.

SORONA

Plant Based Fabric

Dupont Sorona is a break through fabric that is made from plant fibers. This fabric is not only biodegradable, it is 100% Vegan. Sorona can be blended to form all kinds of fabrics including our line of Silk Chiffons which hold all the same qualities and principles.

wool sourced in the sea

SEAWOOL

Seawool combines oyster shells with plastic pet bottles to spin a yarn that is 99 percent similar to wool along with adding some quality of life improvements such as: anti static, quick dry, anti odor, and moisture management.

Cupro is a  fabric that is made from cotton linter. When the mills produce rolls of fabrics, the linter yields are the aces threads that the yarn is woven from
